normal 0 false false false en-us x-none ar-sa microsoftinternetexplorer4 background: work-related musculoskeletal disorders (wmsds) are as one of general health problems throughout the world and they are the main reason for disabilities. the aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of wmsds of isfahan’s teachers and the effect of eight weeks selected corrective exercises and ergonomic interventions on them. methods: nordic questionnaire and quick exposure check (qec) were used in this study. findings: statistically significant results were reported in different parts of body related to the musculoskeletal disorders as the following: in lumbar (62.2%), neck (47.4%), shoulder (45.2%), knee (42.2%), and wrist/hand (36.1%). lower back (13.9%), foot and ankle (37.8%), thigh (23.5%) and elbow (4.3%) were in the following items. according to the results of qec, 75% tasks of the study subjects were in high level . score of qec in different techniques showed that among the tasks, the highest score was allocated to teaching and writing on the board (57.63%); in other words, they were in a high level with regarding to the risk level and corrective exercises had to be done for check. after implementing corrective exercises in 8 weeks and ergonomic interventions, the significant improvement had been shown in the disorders of neck, shoulder, wrist and hand; as if the teachers suffered less in the parts such as neck (70%), lumbar (66.6%), shoulder (33.5%) and wrist (50%). conclusion: according to the results, the prevalence rate of musculoskeletal disorders in the teachers was rather high; in addition, the highness of risk level was a symptom of traumatic work place at schools. the corrective exercises recommended for teachers reduced musculoskeletal disorders; thus, correction of body posture in teaching technique on the board is recommended .
